Great Lakes REIT uses Yardi Enterprise Property Management software to manage its office properties located throughout the upper Midwest. Great Lakes REIT is a publicly traded real estate investment trust that owns and manages its properties, aggregating 5.5 million square feet of space. The properties are located in cities in Chicago, Cincinnati, Columbus, Denver, Detroit, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, and St. Paul.
The Yardi Enterprise system provides Great Lakes with operational efficiency through simplified retrieval of property data and reporting capabilities. Great Lakes has twenty remote offices that access the central Yardi database through Citrix. This ensures that real-time data is available to the remote offices for accurate transactions and reports. When the company decided to look into new software to replace their aging Skyline system, they evaluated other packages that included MRI and Timberline. They chose Yardi for its user-friendly interface, ease of use, and reporting capabilities. The Yardi implementation took approximately three months to complete.
The streamlined workflow, resulting from Voyager's flexible options and automated tasks, ensures the company's competitive edge.
Great Lakes REIT offers its investors one of the highest returns on invested capital (ROIC) in the office REIT sector. Yardi Systems is an important component of the company's operations, as it allows for more detailed data manipulation, financial transactions, and reporting. This provides decision-makers with the information they need in a timely manner. "Yardi Enterprise has made it easier to retrieve data, and we can readily download it into Microsoft Excel," says Brett A. Brown, Senior Vice President, Financial Reporting of Great Lakes REIT.
Great Lakes REIT is a leader in the acquisition and management of Midwestern office buildings. Since the company was formed in 1992, it has grown by carefully targeting its acquisitions, building the value of its properties and offering superior tenant service. Yardi Systems will be an integral part of the company's continued success with its leading technology designed for the real estate industry.
